...to commemorate all the innocent men, women and children that the i.r.a. murdered just to secure themselves a prosperous future! Or will you just treat it as another reason to get pis*sed? How soon we forget!

The IRA wouldn't have had to kill anybody if it wasn't for the english trying to take over YET ANOTHER country. They formed to defend their country, if they did not have to defend the beautiful emerald aisle aginst british scum, they would not exist.

Women watching there sons getting beaten, people beaten for using their native tongue, I'm sure you have heard these stories but to quote an idiot 'How soon we forget!'

And to the writer who thinks I don't know what i'm talking about, I never said I support the IRA but I understand the views and obvious anger of those who formed it.

Having said that I will be using Paddys Day as nothin other than a fun day for me child, partner and me....and wearing green

Hmmmm. Funny thing. I didn't realise that Paddy's Day was actually "I support the 'RA Day".

Do you honestly think that we aren't completely aware of the people who have died over the decades. I also love how you conveniently forget about the innocent men, women and children murdered by the UVF.

The UVF and the IRA are scum but what bearing does that have on celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

You frankly disgust me by trivializing such a matter to make yourself "controversial". Grow up.

Cindy: The poster was not talking about the original IRA but the PIRA, CIRA and RIRA who were not fighting for their country but simply fighting for the sake of it. The people did not support them. They were terrorists and should be thought of as such.

Green

But only cause the holiday commemorates St. Patrick, not the IRA

I will be wearing green and not associating the holiday (which existed LONG before the IRA) with violence.

The official alternate color to green is orange, by the way.

Anything but green.

Another [explicit] pagan holiday.

Do alcoholics and fornicators seriously NEED an excuse to do what they do best?
